A green oasis in the Mediterranean sea
On Elba you will find extremely varied beaches in all imaginable colours, a lush and unspoiled natural environment, cultural traditions encompassing history, art and cooking, all nothing like you will find anywhere else in the world. Elba is a wild but inviting island, surrounded by extraordinarily clear sea. But for us mountainbikers, the main thing is the trails – and Elba has them aplenty. From flowing to technical, it’s all there, and the length of the descents is a real plus. The perfect winter escape for fit and experienced enduro riders.
Once more unto the beach
To reduce the amount of uphill riding and to make the most of our time, we use the minibus each day. After all, we’re on holiday! Maximum pedalpowered climb will be 1000 m per day, our driver takes care of the rest. Elba is incredibly diverse; not only does each trail have its own character, but the landscape of each coast is totally different. During the course of the week, we will be exploring the whole island, from the granite trails of Monte Capanne to the “Mini-Rampage” trails on the Calamita peninsular, from the island’s lush green forests to its shimmering red lakes.
Our guide will plan each day’s riding according to the weather and the wishes of the group. Elba is not very big – we’ve got the whole island at our disposal, which means we can be very flexible. We will be visiting the eastern ridge, the Calamita peninsular, the central line of hills, Monte Perone and Monte Capanne. Most of the rides end directly at the beach.

This trip is mostly made up of straightforward singletracks, with views of the sea. The routes range from flowing to technical; solid riding skills at S2 level will be needed. That means that we’ll be riding over rocks and roots, with high steps and frequent stretches of loose gravel – often really quite tricky, but it’s generally possible to bypass challenging sections, and you can always simply dismount. We’ll be using the minibus each day, but you’ll still need to be up for a daily climb of 1000 m, and you’ll need to be used to pushing/carrying your bike.
We’ll be happy to assist you with dealing with challenging sections. Each day’s timetable will include plenty of room for working through challenges with you and giving you technique tips as desired.
We’ll be travelling from Innsbruck in a nineseater minibus; sit back and enjoy the journey while getting to know the other participants, while our guide takes care of the driving. Innsbruck is well connected to the European rail network. If travelling a long way, Innsbruck airport is an option. We can collect you from there or from the station.
For anyone coming to Innsbruck by car, it will be easy to park in Innsbruck for the week.
